You should generally brush your teeth 2 times a day, but more often, if necessary. Any time that you’re consuming foods or drinks that are sugary, you must brush for a longer time and right after you consume them so that you’re protecting your tooth enamel.

For best results, your toothbrush should be kept clean. Rinse your toothbrush when you are finished, and wait for it to dry. Toothbrush holders are a great way to keep your toothbrush sanitary. Avoid storing your toothbrush inside a container to prevent bacteria from developing. Buy a new toothbrush every few months.

Do you often have bad breath and a dry mouth? Prescription medication might be the culprit causing this problem. If you are experiencing these symptoms, you are at increased risk of having dental problems. Discuss your symptoms with your physician and see if your medications are to blame. If that is the case, perhaps you can change medications. If it is determined that your medication is not to blame, then your doctor can prescribe you a medication to treat dry mouth.

Hydrogen peroxide can whiten your teeth. To safely use hydrogen peroxide, pour a small amount into the bottle cap and dip your toothbrush into it. Gently brush your teeth for two minutes, but do not touch your gums. Then, brush your teeth again with toothpaste to help you have sweet smellling breath.
